Urbansoul Design
Creative thinking has paid off for a young team of graphic designers at Urbansoul Design, Lancashire. Specialists in design for education their prospectus, produced in partnership with Oldham Sixth Form College, was voted the best Sixth Form Centre Prospectus 2007 by The Marketing Network Further Education FE First Awards. At this year’s annual event there were 130 entries across 15 categories demonstrating a huge amount of innovative and creative thinking.
Each category has specialist judges, who not only look for best practice in the category area, but how the entry fits into the overall college marketing strategy. Vicky Annand, University of London, judged the Urban Soul designed prospectus for Oldham Sixth Form College and said: “The prospectus is lively, interesting to read, and benefits from good use of imagery and lots of excellent student profiles, making it very people-oriented and welcoming. It effectively conveys a sense of the College being an ideal step between school and university.”
Karen Prior, Marketing Manager of Oldham Sixth Form College, is delighted that the college has been recognised for marketing best practice and comments: “I find that Urbansoul Design really engage with you, they listen to your brief and creatively deliver what you’ve asked for; on time, on budget and in a very amenable way. I’m sure this award-winning prospectus helped us increase our intake in 2007/8”.
Over the past five years Urbansoul Design, has worked with no fewer than 37 educational institutions and have now developed a real specialism in this sector. “Our creative approach is tried and tested and we know it works”, comments Dave Williams, Creative Director, at Urbansoul Design. A warm welcome to our newest addition to the Urban Soul family, Cheryl Cochran. Cheryl joined the team in September and is a Graphic Design graduate from East Lancashire Institute of Higher Education (ELIHE).
Urban Soul Design sponsors the World Gravy Wrestling Championship
Possibly the tastiest event in the Rossendale calendar, the World Gravy Wrestling Championships proves to be a real splash with both the spectators and competitors alike. Urban Soul are proud sponsors of this innovative fundraising event which has managed to raise over £2500 for Rossendale Hospice and St John's Ambulance Service.
