Need help with your business finance?
Access to sustainable finance is essential if businesses are to grow. The Government is developing a new approach to supporting business improvement and growth; it’s changing the way business support is managed and delivered both nationally and locally.
Access to appropriate finance will be key to ensuring that businesses are able to survive and expand. If you need help, a good place to start is the free advice and support offered by Business Link North West on 0845 00 66 888. BLNW offers independent advice to help small businesses and business startups understand the award, grant and loan options available to them.
Other business finance loans and grants include:
The North West Fund is a £185 million evergreen investment fund setup to provide debt and equity finance from £50,000 to £2 million to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the Northwest of England.
Northwest Business Angels supports start-up businesses seeking capital and SME’s moving into high growth by putting them in touch with a network of private investors.
Small Loans for Business is a loan scheme designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners to start a new business or expand and established one. You must have a viable business plan and have been unable to secure all or part of your finance from commercial sources. Loans range between £3,000 to £50,000.
Grant for Research and Development: A grant scheme to help business owners fund the R&D required to get new products and processes to market. Grants for R&D support provided by the NWDA for new projects has ceased. Businesses may wish to note that from April 2011 the lead delivery body for a successor scheme to Grant for R&D will be the Technology Strategy Board. Details of this future scheme will be made announced in due course.
